Like most rivers, levels can change so take care when mooring and check for flood and weather warnings before cruising.
Above Evesham, boat width is restricted to 12 ft 6 in and draught to 3 ft.
Above the River Lock, connecting the River Avon to the Stratford Upon Avon Canal, the river narrows quite quickly. Care must be taken if proceeding any further.
The navigable section runs from Alveston (2 miles North East of Stratford-upon-Avon), flowing South West to Tewkesbury where it joins the mighty River Severn.
Known also as Warwickshire Avon or Shakespeare's Avon as there are noe less than ten River Avon's in the UK.

This River Avon is often cruised as part of the Avon Ring.
