What can be found at: Lapworth Locks
The lower end of Lapworth Locks is at Lock 21, North Stratford Canal and making its way uphill to Lock 6.
The Boot Inn can be found at Lock 14 and Bridge 33.
Mooring can be found between Locks 14 and 15.
A good selection of Boater Facilities can be found at the bottom between Locks 21 and 22 including: Elsan, Refuse Disposal, Water, Showers, Toilets and Pump-Out.
Between Locks 18 and 21, there are long term private moorings.
Kingswood Junction is at the lower end of the locks flight and is where the Grand Union junctions onto the North Stratford Canals. At first, boaters wishing to turn South onto the North Stratford had to go up one lock, turn sharp left and go down one lock.
What is now the Lapworth Link, was originally a lock. When the current locks were completed, the Lapworth Link was made into a Stop Lock that required permanent staff to look after its operation. When Lock 21 was built, the Stop Lock was filled in and the gates removed. In 1996, it was reopened as you see it today. It was closed because the Warwick and Birmingham Canal Company objected to the water loss. As with many canal junctions, there was much argy-bargy and Parliamentary acts passed to resolve the situation.
Today, the Lapworth Link where the two canals join are at the same level making the transition from canal to the other much faster. Shame it wasn't seen that way in the past.

Also shown will be Stand Alone: winding holes, moorings, water, elsan, refuse disposal and toilets etc.
