Lock Gates
Tunnel AqueductCompleted in 1789 and part of a canal route from Bristol to London. Connecting to the River Severn via the Stroudwater Canal at Wallbridge in Stroud.
The canal was 28.7 miles in length. It was last fully operational in the mid late 1920's and was fully abandoned in 1941.
A bid for £82 million of lottery funding was made in 2003. In 2006 £11.9 million was awarded for the first phase of restoration.
