History and General Knowledge of the River Cam

Originally known as the Granta, in fact some parts still are. Navigable from Cambridge to where it joins the Great Ouse at Stretham.

Jesus Lock is approx 75 feet, Baits Bite Lock is approx 100 feet and Bottisham Lock is approx 85 feet. These measurements have been taken using Google Maps zoomed in. We have erred on the side of caution. Please check before cruising. If you're in a narrow-boat and less than 72 feet, you should be fine.

We try our very best, but here's a Disclaimer just in case!

We have added 103 Waterways and there are 3164 entries listed and displayed on our maps and/or the resource pages: Waterways Resources - Boat Build & Fit Out - Waterside Attractions. We continue to add items on a very regular basis.
Many entries have several services on offer, on average 5 services (some have many more). This means there are approx. 5 x the number of services listed.
